This course deals with a special sub-theme of materials mechanics - the theory of elasticity, viscoelasticity and plasticity, which is relevant for such modern materials as polymers and composite materials. The course pays special attention to the use of computer programs to solve viscoelasticity problems, as well as provides explanations of the meaning of computer program concepts, such as von Mises stress, which students have already encountered in other courses.
