Rotary Machines
MTH505

Description
Rotating structural parts, shafts are the main elements of many energy and transport machines. The main factor for the excitation of dynamic loads in the rotor is unbalance. In order to analyze this phenomenon, the course deals with dynamics calculation methods, rotor balancing methods (static and dynamic balancing), critical speeds, self-centering effect, stability problems, the effect of anisotropy of the rotating system. Analysis of complex systems is performed by working with mathematical models, both linear and nonlinear, discrete and continuous.
