Introduction to analog and digital communication systems.

Basic knowledge about communication systems.

Prerequisites

EEI 231 (Signals and Systems) or approval by the instructor.

Course Content

Signals and signal space: analysis and transmission of signals. Modulation and demodulation: amplitude (AM) and angle (FM). Sampling and analog-to-digital conversion. Principles of digital data transmission. Introduction to information theory and coding.
