AIMS AND OBJECTIVES OF THE COURSE: At the end of the course the students are expected to be able to apply the theoretical, methodological and practical knowledge and skills that have been obtained during the course in the field of the Industrial Enterprise Finance and Financial management. The approaches that managers might use to efficiently attract capital and distribute profits will be discussed. More specifically, we will examine how managers should make planning, financing, and dividend decisions that enhance stockholders’ investment value.
DESCRIPTION OF THE COURSE: The main topics concern: The financial statements concept and how to interpret financial information through financial analysis, the different approaches of financial planning, the different approaches for corporate financing, the concept of future value and the concept of present value, the capital structure decisions, financing with long term sources (bonds, preferred and common stock) decisions, financing with intermediate term sources (term loans and leases) decisions and short-term financial management.
