Module Overview
Here students undertake a group project involving the application of knowledge and skills obtained elsewhere in the programme to practical aspects of the civil engineering design process This module focuses on the development of skills necessary for the planning and implementation of a civil engineering project including, but not limited to, client liaison, budgeting, project management, research, elementary design, communication and presentation. The project involves ethical and legal considerations in fields such as health, safety and the environment.
Students work in groups to address the issues raised in their project, to research possible solutions and present recommended solutions as a precursor to work in a professional environment, which includes quality assurance, project and financial management elements.
