Description
Module Overview   
The aim of this module is to increase the knowledge of students to the social and economic context of engineers work.

 This module will increase the awareness of the social and commercial context of the engineers work. It will cover a number of areas: engineering industry as a major sector of the macro economy, diverse roles of individual consumers, firms, prices and behaviour as important aspects of microeconomics, an understanding of and the ability to evaluate current macroeconomic issues in Ireland, with particular emphasis on the importance of the engineering/construction industry in the attainment of macroeconomic and social objectives.
