Advanced Design of Structures
IS 18.20

Description
1. Beam-free floors. RC and PC flat slabs
2. Beam-free floors. Flat slabs with hollow bodies (e.g.  Bubble Deck/Beeplate/Cobiax)
3. Appropriate reinforcement types. Types of anchorages. Available prestressing technologies
4. Designing RC structural systems against earthquakes (I). Designing principles
5. Designing RC structural systems against earthquakes (II). Capacity rotation for flat slab-column components
6. Statics for flat slabs (I) using the substitute frame method
7. Statics for flat slabs (II) using FEA and the strip approach
8. Calculating the trajectory of the active reinforcement (I) – an analytical approach
9. Calculating the trajectory of the active reinforcement (II) – computed calculations
10. Dimensioning the longitudinal passive reinforcement. Principles, prescriptions and analytical calculations
11. Dimensioning the longitudinal active reinforcement. Principles, prescriptions and analytical calculations
12. Dimensioning against slab punching with and without the prestress effect
13. Increasing the rotation capacity of the flat slab-column connection. Calculating the normal stress, σ, as a consequence of the confining effect given by stirrups and spirals.
14. Calculation on the deflection and cracking of the flat slabs
