All human action is localized. Therefore, there is clearly a link between built spaces and human activities. The Sociology course aims to present some of these links, thus broadening the student’s understanding of architectural and urban planning processes. It aims to offer a brief presentation of different concepts related to space and society. Starting from the fact that architecture and urban planning are social actions (they always have an effect on others), and the architect is a social actor, the course offers a toolbox of concepts and methods in order to understand some possible social effects of the architects’ work.
